We are a growing and thriving bilingual church that serves our English and Spanish-speaking communities, conducting four services each weekend. Over the past four years, our attendance has surged from two hundred to over six hundred, presenting challenges in space, support, impact, and outreach due to our rapid growth.

To sustain our growth, we’re embarking on four strategic initiatives designed to propel us into the next phase of God’s plan for our church. These initiatives address current needs and pave the way for future expansion, enabling us to minister to more people, broaden our influence and impact, and equip more individuals for Christ's mission. Through these efforts, we aim to help MORE people to discover God, community, and purpose.

FOUR INITIATIVES

  • Discover Church prioritizes church planting as a cornerstone of its mission. Originating from a multisite campus, we’ve witnessed how local churches can amplify the Kingdom’s impact through multiplication.

Recognizing the absence of Assemblies of God churches in many areas and understanding the challenges faced by those who travel long distances to connect with us, we aspire to bring the life-giving presence of the church to these communities. We advocate for the efficacy of localized congregations, believing they provide optimal care and discipleship within their unique contexts.

Aligned with this vision, we've joined forces with the Church Multiplication Network to foster the growth of healthy, spirit-filled congregations across all communities.

  • At Discover Church, we firmly believe in an outward-focused approach. Our commitment to missions runs deep within our identity. Each year, we increase our contributions and involvement in community and global projects. Collaborations with entities like Medina Valley ISD, The Castroville Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Castroville illustrate our commitment to serving our local community. We aspire to forge additional partnerships with organizations providing benevolence support, adoption services, professional counseling, and more. Beyond our immediate community, we are passionate about supporting projects that spread the gospel worldwide through financial aid, prayer, and the training and sending of missionaries from within our congregation.

  • Discover Church is situated in one of San Antonio's fastest-growing areas, strategically positioned to reach not only the city but also neighboring towns like Castroville and Hondo. However, this prime location has presented challenges regarding space within our church. With our congregation expanding from 200 to over 600 attendees, accommodating everyone has become a pressing issue. We've already added a fourth service time, yet our facilities are nearly at capacity each weekend, resulting in congestion in areas like our Kids Ministry, lobbies, entrances, and parking lot. This overcrowding has also limited our ability to host classes and trainings for the community. Fortunately, we have access to fifteen and a half acres for constructing a larger auditorium and facilities. With expanded facilities, we can better serve our growing community, offering activities throughout the week and accommodating MORE families each weekend. As our surrounding community continues to grow, it's imperative that our facilities grow in tandem to support our ministry efforts.

  • At our church, we firmly believe in our Biblical responsibility to disciple and equip leaders and pastors. The quantity and quality of leadership significantly impacts the growth and vitality of our congregation. As our church has expanded, we've observed the strain on both part-time and full-time staff members due to limited hours and heavy workloads. Consequently, the implementation of new initiatives, projects, and teams has been hindered or delayed, either due to staff shortages or the inherent limitations of volunteer commitment. Our vision is to prioritize intentional leadership development, aiming to cultivate MORE high-capacity staff members and pastors from within our own congregation. Additionally, we aim to alleviate current time and capacity constraints by promoting part-time staff to full-time positions. We trust in prayer to the God of the Harvest to provide us with the leaders we need to equip and send forth.
